Choosing Your Table

At TherapyShopper.com we work with you to find a table that works for you. When choosing a table the buyer should first consider the physical size and weight of the table.

Physical Dimensions:

Width: Most popular tables are between 28 to 30" in width. These widths will accommodate the needs of both the client's comfort and the practitioner's working efficiency. Tables within these dimensions are also easier to transport.

Length: The standard length of portable tables is 73". Adding an optional headrest will add another 12" to the overall length of the table. You can shorten the length of the receiver by using an optional bolster under the ankle or knees.

Height: All tables sold by therapyshopper.com are adjustable to the height that you require. Factors to consider when adjusting table heights include the height of the practitioner, treatment style and optimal working height. Measurement should be done from the floor to the tabletop.

Weight: Standard portable tables weigh between 28-32 pounds

Structural Design & Construction Features

At TherapyShopper.com we provide the buyer with all the information needed to make your choice of tables as easy as possible. Many features contribute to the structural design and construction of your table.

Strength: There are two terms used by manufacturers when rating their tables.

Static Weight: The maximum amount of weight that can be distributed across the entire surface of the table. It is usually established by applying weights to the tables to see the heaviest weight load the table will withstand.

Working Weigh: The total pounds per square inch that can be applied to the specific working area of the table while in use.

Foam:

2" Medium density foam is used on most standard tables. Some higher end tables use laminated (layered) foam adding an additional inch.

Fabric Types:

Levante Doeskin: Smooth, soft vinyl treated with Pre Fixx for easy cleaning and stain resistance.

Sta-Soft: Similar to Levante Doeskin but protected with BeautyGuard finish.

Ultraleather: Very durable, easy to clean and lightweight. Premium, supple fabric available at extra cost.

Table Care

All tables sold by TherapyShopper.com require little maintenance. By following the tips below you can add many years of worry free use of your table.

Structural Care:

Inspect the structural components (frame, legs, braces and connections) periodically making sure they are in proper working order.

Fabric Care:

Fabric should be cleaned with mild soap and water, non abrasive cleaners like Windex or Fantastic or with special table cleaners offered on our accessories page. Our special cleaners remove oils from the fabric and help keep your table sanitary. It is advised that you clean your table after each use. Be careful not to use vinyl cleaners and conditioners like Armor All as all our fabrics are pre-treated with protective finishes.

A fitted table sheet and headrest cover will protect the fabric from oil stains, punctures and tears and if used should be replaced after each massage.

A sturdy carrying case is a good investment for your table. In addition to providing you with an easier method of carrying your table it also serves as an excellent storage and protection for your table when it is not in use or in transit.
